Bump Wednesday #18 "Drive Bump"

Face smashes and exploding heads aside, "Drive" was a pretty cool movie. While you don't drive very often, you can still look cool rocking a scorpion jacket and bumping some of the "Drive" soundtrack while riding the commuter train.

Kavinsky "Nightcall (feat. Lovefoxxx)"
College "A Real Hero (feat. Electric Youth)"

Bump Wednesday #17 "Kimbra Bump"

How cool are we? Many months ago we were rocking Gotye's "Somebody that I Used to Know" featuring Kimbra. Now it's the hottest song on the planet. We looked up Kimbra at the time, but let's take another look at her music. She's out with a terrific track for Converse shoes. She was in the song I used for my Homie Thanksgiving video from a couple years ago. And she's got a wealth of solo tracks. Her solo stuff... loves tambourine.

Bump Wednesday #16 "Pals Bump"

Thanks for attending a ballgame with me last weekend. You genuinely seemed to enjoy yourself. Perhaps it's because you sat with so many of my pals. Many of those same people make music. But you knew that. Have you listened to them? You will now.

Bump Wednesday #14 "Cee Lo Bump"

Today it's all Cee Lo. From The Dungeon Family in Atlanta while rapping on Outkast's first album (in 1994) all the way to a permanent judge on some NBC talent(less) show and a half time performer in last Sunday's Super Bowl. Good for him, I say. He was definitely the standout artist in the four person Goodie MOb and, along with Outkast, were the best among that bunch of rappers. I used to hear that Cee Lo put on the best live performance in all of hip hop, removing his shirt to unveil a belly and tattoos. He'd stage dive, get sweaty, and give his all at every show. Never did see him live though. He went silent for a little bit (reading Wikipedia it seems his mother's passing might have been the reason) before remaking and building himself into the singer/rapper that he is today. He also added "Green" to his stage name. His real name is Thomas DeCarlo Calloway. His step daughter was once a huge brat on an episode of MTV's "My Super Sweet 16." But I digress. Enjoy Cee Lo from early to now. This bump includes instances where he cameoed, was part of a group, sang backup, joined with Dangermouse, and finally went solo. I skipped your favorite FU song. He's talented, at least give him that. Maybe you'll even learn to love a little Cee Lo.

Outkast "Git Up, Git Out"
Goodie MOb "Cell Therapy"
Goodie MOb "Soul Food"
Goodie MOb "They Don't Dance"
Dangerdoom "Benzi Box"
Gnarls Barkley "Smiley Faces"
Cee-Lo Green "Georgia"

Bump Wednesday #13 "Hump Bump"

It's February 1. While it might be Black History Month to us, it's a month of L O V E to most others. That heart shaped day in the middle of the month makes people prove their love by buying flowers, chocolates, and blood diamonds at Kay Jewelers. I'm starting the month by getting to the point: SEX. Today's bump, "Hump Bump," was bound to happen at some point. Might as well be at the start of the sexiest month. By-the-way, no promises that I won't fold a little and give you a bump about love later.

Cansei de Ser Sexy "Music Is My Hot Sex"
Marina and The Diamonds "Sex, Yeah"
of Montreal "Sex Karma"
Van She "Sex City (Nightmoves Remix)"

Bump Wednesday #12 "Go Swim Bump"

The other day you mentioned swimming. You went as far as to look up Koret gym by researching prices. The way I see it, if you want to swim you have two choices. Either join Koret or start digging a hole in your backyard.

Memory Tapes "Swimming Field"
